The Tragedy of Macbeth

Joel Coen writes and directs a new adaptation of William Shakespeare's classic of the same name in his first film as sole director, without his brother Ethan, and has decided to shoot it in black and white. The story tells us the misfortune and tragedy of Macbeth, a Scottish Lord who, convinced by three witches and encouraged by his ambitious wife, sets out to become the next King of Scotland amid murders, madness, greed and intrigue.

It stars Frances McDormand (who is also a co-producer on the film), Denzel Washington, Corey Hawkins, Moses Ingram, Brendan Gleeson, Harry Melling, Ralph Ineson, Brian Thompson, Sean Patrick Thomas, Lucas Barker, Kathryn Hunter, Alex Hassell. and Stephen Root.
