Plot
Trelkovsky, a Polish shy bureaucrat, arrives in the city of Paris and rents an apartment with very strict rules and a dark past: its old tenant, Simone Choule, jumped out of the window in order to commit suicide and now rests in coma at the hospital. When Trelkovsky goes to the hospital to see Simone, he will become obsessed with her and will enter in a spiral of mania and paranoia, arriving to the point of believing that his landlord and neighbors want to end him the same way they did with Simone: making him commit suicide. But how can you distinguish truth from illusion when you can't even trust your own mind? Roman Polanski writes, helms and stars in this film, nominated for the Palme d'Or at Cannes. Among the cast, we can find Isabelle Adjani, Melvyn Douglas or Jo Van Fleet.
