The Tale of the Princess Kaguya

Once upon a time, an honorable elderly couple who could not have children. One day the old man, who is the Bamboo Cutter, went into the woods to cut a few stems to work and saw that one of them lit up. When he opens the bamboo, he found a fragile doll, she was the princess of the moon. He carefully took the little baby with his wife. They decided to raise her as if it were their own daughter and, they think that she is a gift from the celestial gods, they decided named to baby as Kaguya. The little girl was growing as fast as bamboo and when she turned into a beautiful young maiden, she was sought by several illustrious and gentlemen from all over the country. However, Princess Kaguya does not wish to marry and therefore each new suitor would send a mission impossible to perform in exchange for her hand. Her beauty was as big as melancholy in her. It is an ancient epic, the crime of a princess and her punishment.
