Plot

Rome, year 1800, the acclaimed diva of the opera, Floria Tosca, is fallen in love with the painter Mario Cavaradossi and he corresponds. her Loving themself passionately, Tosca asks his great love to help his brother, who is leader of the Resistance, to escape from the city. However, fate will cause the painter to be discovered and imprisoned by the corrupt Baron Scarpia, city police. La Tosca, devastated, goes to the police station to get her dear painter out of captivity. Scarpia, who had long wanted the beautiful soprano lasciviously, makes a shady deal with Tosca, he will leave his beloved fiancé free if she agrees to give herself to him. She, desperate, will accept a tragic destiny to save the life of the man to whom she gave her heart. Inspired by the legendary opera by Gioacomo Puccini, which, in turn, is based on the play 'La Tosca' by Victorien Sardou. Directed by Carl Koch, initially it was directed by Jean Renoir but, due to the entrance of Italy in the World War II, Mussolini expelled the famous French filmmaker.
