Plot
The outbreak of the Second War World in Europe is the historical context of this new movie set in London. 'The Song of Names' tells the story of Dovidl, a child and Jewish refugee who emigrates to the British capital from his home country, Poland. The young boy is adopted by a well-off family in London who discovers the gift that their adopted son has a natural talent for playing the violin. Thanks to his family's societal position, the young boy receives the best musical training possible to foster his raw talent. Dovidl also finds a best friend in the former of his brother, Martin.
Years later, however, Dovidl disappears without warning before giving his first concert. The family are consumed with sadness and loss, with Martin in particular devastated by the disappearance of his best friend and brother.
As time passes and Dovidl fails to return, Martin grows older and becomes a musical expert for himself. One day, he discovers a young violinist with such skill and ability that could only have been passed on by Dovidl. This motivates Martin to reboot the search for his lost brother, a quest which will lead him to travel the world and will also force him to delve deep into the questions that he has held, unanswered, inside of him for too many years.
