Plot
'The Six Triple Eight' is a film inspired by the first and only group of African American women in the Army who fought in World War II. Despite racism, machismo, and the horrible, exhausting working conditions, a group of women committed to serving their country with honor and excellence. These heroines, who were ignored and united by their determination, were entrusted with a special mission that ultimately brought hope and broke down a series of barriers.
A feature film written and directed by Tyler Perry, starring Kerry Washington as Captain Charity Adams, the officer in charge of the 6888th Central Postal Directory Battalion. The film was produced by Tyler Perry, Nicole Avant, Angi Bones, Tony L. Strickland, Keri Selig, and Carlota Espinosa, and features big names in its cast such as Ebony Obsidian, Milauna Jackson, Kylie Jefferson, Shanice Shantay, Sarah Jeffery, Pepi Sonuga, Moriah Brown, Jeanté Godlock, Susan Sarandon, Dean Norris, Sam Waterston, and Oprah Winfrey. The idea for the film is based on an article by Kevin M. Hymel and presents a brand new, completely original song composed by Diane Warren. H.E.R. has been tasked with performing it, and the choreography has been handled by Debbie Allen.
