The story focuses on four families, which at first glance are not related . In them we see the reflection of different models of American family. The four living in a suburb of an American city. Esther Gold (Glenn Close) takes great care and dedication to his son, who is in a coma . The Jennings family tries to get ahead, after having to accept the idea of ??divorce as a reality. Jim Train (Dermot Mulroney) tries to be better at his work but he doesn't get it and finally Helen Christianson (Mary Kay Place) is tired of her boring life.
