The Road Dance

Inspired by true events, 'The Road Dance' chronicles the life of beautiful Kirsty Macleod, whose dream of going to America and escaping poverty and church repression with her love Murdo means everything to her. However, when Murdo is drafted to fight in the First Great World War, the young woman's plans are severely shaken. In the small Scottish island community where they live, the inhabitants hold a grand "Road Dance" before sending their young men into battle. As the young future soldiers twirl and dance, the wheel of tragedy has already begun and Macleod will be helpless in the face of the suffering she and her people are about to experience.

This film of British origin is directed by the American film director Richie Adams ('Una Vida: A Fable of Music and the Mind' or 'Jumper' from 2008) and the script of this one, has been elaborated by John Mackay. The film stars Hermione Corfield, Will Fletcher, Mark Gatiss, David Brooks, Morven Christie, Ali Fumiko Whitney and Tom Byrne, among others. The production companies in charge of producing this film are Sheridan Road Productions, Uinta Productions and Wind Chill Media Group.

Based on the Scottish Hebrides, 'The Road Dance' will be released in our Spanish cinemas on September 22nd.
