The Rescue

'The Rescue' follows the Emergency Response Unit of the China Rescue & Salvage (CRS), a coastguard that must push aside their personal lives and conflicts to perform their lifesaving job.

Gao Qian (Eddie Peng, 'The Great Wall'), their brave, well-respected captain, is a widower struggling to balance the responsibility of his job with caring for his young son, Cong Cong (Zhang Jingyi). Fatherhood can be a tricky business, especially when his job regularly involves hurling himself onto burning oil rigs and saving sinking planes from the ocean. Along with his team-members, the plucky new recruit and chopper pilot Fang Yulin (Zhilei Xin, 'Candle in the Tomb: The Wrath of Time') and helicopter pilot Zhao Cheng (Yanlin Wang, 'Across the Ocean to See You'), the CRS must throw itself into incredibly dangerous situations to save lives, only to have to remember how to live their own when the working day is over, too.

'The Rescue' is a Mandarin-language action film directed by Dante Lam ('The Viral Factor') and written by Wong Sze Man, Tan Yuli and Yaqing Zhi. Lyric Lan ('Pacific Rim: Uprising', 'Never Gone'), Yutian Wang ('Defended War', 'Operation Red Sea'), Yang Xu ('Deepwater Forces') and Carlos Chan ('Declared Legally Dead') also star.
