The Reconquest

Jonás Trueba gets back in directing with his fourth film 'La Reconquista'. A movie about the relations between love and time, time lost and time gained.

Manuela (Itsaso Arana) and Olmo (Francesco Carril) reunite following a promise made 15 years ago, when both were experiencing their first loves. The movie then explores the memory, what we are, and what we are not anymore, the words we use, the gestures we make without realizing. What we remember, and what we (decide to) forget, uniting in that way present, past and future.

The movie takes place in the streets of Madrid, where Trueba already made 'Every Song is About Me' and 'The Wishful Thinkers', after shooting 'Los exiliados románticos' in France.
