The Prestige

It all starts in the hectic London of the late nineteenth century. In a time when magicians are the most renowned idols, two young magicians propose to be famous making magic by themeselves. The flamboyant and sophisticated Robert Angier is a consummate entertainer, while the rough purist Alfred Borden is a creative genius who lacks the panache necessary to show the public his magical ideas. At first, are two companions and friends who admire each other. However, when the best trick of both spoil, they are become irreconcilable enemies and try by all means to outdo the other and kill it. Trick to trick, show to show, it is forged their fierce competition, which knows no limits. This is the fifth film by director Christopher Nolan.
