The Phantom of the Open

'The Phantom of the Open' is the new work of Craig Robertos. The British film follows the true story of Maurice Flitcroft, a family man and crane operator in a small English town. Maurice reaches a point where his job is in jeopardy due to economic instability in the country. After watching a golf match on TV, our protagonist falls absolutely in love with this sport. Therefore, he decides to sign up for the most important tournament in the world, the British Open. However, the problem is more than obvious, Maurice has never touched a golf club in his life.

Oscar winner Mark Rylance ('Bridge of Spies') stars in this film directed by BAFTA winner Roberts ('Eternal Beauty'). An amusing comedy based on true events with an approximate running time of 102 minutes.

The rest of the film's cast is completed by Sally Hawkins, Rhys Ifans, Mark Lewis Jones, Johann Myers, Jake Davies, Alfredo Tavares, Jonah Lees, Barry Aird, Christian Lees, Ash Tandon, Genevieve Florence, Afsaneh Dehrouyeh, Pierre Bergman, Ross Forder, Claire Ashton, Sadao Ueda, Dai Tabuchi, Mike Capozzola, Jeanette Maskell, John Mcgrellis and Marc Bosch.

'The Phantom of the Open' is distributed in Spain by A Corrientes Films and will hit theaters across our country on November 18, 2022.
