Plot
The film 'The Outpost' is based on the real story of the Battle of Kamdesh, in which a small team of US soldiers came under attack from hundreds of Taliban Fighters in Afghanistan. It was a victory for the Americans, but at too great a cost to be celebrated, with 8 killed and 27 wounded. However, the Taliban were forced to retreat due to their own casualties and over 150 are believed to have been killed. Sergeant Clinton Romesha (who will be played by Scott Eastwood) and Sergeant Ty Carter both recieved a Medal of Honour in 2013 for their bravery during this battle.
The film has been directed by Rod Lurie, and the actors Eric Johnson and Paul Tamasy play the leading role in it.
