Plot
In the early 20th century, Miguel is a young teacher stationed in Lobosandaus, a small and inhospitable mountain village on the border between countries Spain and Portugal. A man of reason, Miguel will try to cope with the superstitions and passions of the villagers, but with the onset of winter he will feel the darkness take over as his attraction to the fascinating Dorinda grows. After the strange death of Mauro, a neighbour of the village, who is found hanging from a tree, his spirit seems to be at liberty and in search of a body that will allow him to continue his existence. The villagers will be dominated by superstition, while Miguel will begin to question the boundaries between the earthly world and the afterlife.
This is the first feature film by its director, Ángeles Huerta, who writes the script alongside Daniel D. García, scriptwriter of the TV series 'Matalobos', and Xosé Luis Méndez Ferrín. Tamar Novas ('El desorden que dejas', 'Fariña'), winner of the Goya award for best new actor in 'The Sea Inside', stars as Miguel, and shares the screen with a cast made up of actors and actresses from Spain and Portugal, including Victoria Guerra ('Glória'), María Vázquez ('Quien a hierro mata', 'Apagón'), Federico Pérez Rey ('Mar adentro', 'Cuñados'), José Fidalgo, and Nicolás Otero as debutant.
