The Nightmare

The horror film 'The Nightmare' focuses on the real horror of sleep paralysis.

The film is inspired by an experience director Rodney Ascher had when he was in college. He woke up at 5 in the morning terrified because he could not move and a shadow stalked him in the dark.

Ascher noted that although the fact of the paralysis itself can be explained as a biological phenomenon, many of the people who have suffered these episodes can´t explain the emergence of human forms that bear a startling resemblance to Freddy Kruger.

Are hallucinations?, demons?, ghosts?, Rodney enters the mind of those people who have suffered sleep paralysis recreating their experiences and bringing the horror of found footage to a new level, because this time what you are watching is real.
