The New Toy

Sami lives happily working in a simple construction proyect with his neighbors. But because his wife is pregnant, he accepts a job as night guard in a luxury article sstore. One day in the store arrives the richest man in France, who lets his son Alexandre choose whatever he wants from the store as a birthday present. And the kid choose Sami. That's how a man without a future becomes as a surprise the new toy of a capricious kid. This familiar comedy is an adaptation of the 1976 film directed by Francis Verber, 'The Toy', in which its protagonist learns that there's things money can't buy.

Directed by James Huth, known for movies such as 'Hellphone' and 'Serial Lover', who also co-writes the script with Jamel Debbouze and Mohamed Hamidi. Jamel Debbouze is the protagonist of the movie acting as Sami, and his filmography includes roles in movies like 'Amelie', 'Days of Glory', 'The Cow' and 'Astérix & Obélix: Mission Cléopâtre'. The young Alexandre is played by Simon Faliu. We can also find among the actors names like Daniel Auteuil, Alice Belaïdi, Salim Kissari, Gilles Cohen and Mahdi Alaoui.
