Plot
The film is set in the 80s, the O 'Haras, an American family, wants to move to the United Kingdom, where the father of the protagonist, Rory (Jude Law) was born. His wife, Alison (Carrie Coon) is not too sure since she has moved four times in the last ten years, but he is convinced that in the United Kingdom they will find great financial opportunities that they can not let pass. He works as a broker but has an ambition to do much more. Once they have moved to a large country mansion in Surrey, their enthusiasm for what is coming begins to crumble.
Rory embraced the American dream and took it to England, giving him a different and daring point of view. He wants to give his family everything he can get, even though they don't really need that much. His origins were very humble so his idea of ??happiness consists in overcoming that past when he did not have much, always being the man he never came to be, building an extravagant and arrogant image of himself, but being blinded very often to what your family really needs.
The film is directed and written by Sean Durkin being his return after once years of his acclaimed debut with 'Martha Marcy May Marlene' and starring Jude Law, Carrie Coon, Anne Reid, Charlie Shotwell, Adeel Akhtar ...
