The Movie Teller

We are in the 60s in Chile. María Margarita is a girl, the youngest of four siblings, inside a family that lives in a miner town in the middle of the Atacama dessert. Her favorite moment is always on Sundays, when they all go together to the cinema so they can enjoy stories that take them to different worlds.

Her parents soon start to realize that María has a very special gift, an incredible ability to tell movies. Her extraordinary talent will expand among the whole town, changing her family's luck while their country transforms completely, forever.

'The Movie Teller' is a French, Spanish and Chilean production, directed by Lone Scherfig, director of 'An Education' and 'Italian for Beginners' and nominated for the BAFTA in two occasions. The script is by Isabel Coixet and it adapts the same-name novel by Hernán Rivera Letelier, Chilean National Prize of Literature.

Starring Bérenice Bejo, Antonio de la Torre, Daniel Brühl, Sara Becker and Alondra Valenzuela. Bérénice Bejo was nominated to the Oscar for her role in 'The Artist' and has participated also in 'The Past' and 'A Knight's Tale'. Antonio de la Torre has been nominated to the Goya 14 different times, winning the prize two times, for 'Azuloscurocasinegro' and 'The Candidate'.
