Plot
Margarethe von Trotta, director of "The German Sisters' and 'Hannah Arendt', gets behind the camera to direct 'The Misplaced World', exhibited in Seminci 2015. This film tells the story of Sophie (Katja Rienmann), a singer jazz, one day receives an urgent call from her father, Paul (Matthias Habich). The urgency is that he has seen a picture of a woman on a US website. The woman who keeps amazing resemblance with his wife and mother of Sophie, who died recently. After showing it, the man repeatedly asks his daughter to visit this woman, and learn more about it. Despite her skepticism, Sophie accepted and traveled to New York to meet this woman, called Caterina Fabiani (Barbara Sukowa) and is a famous opera singer. What it seemed to be simply a round trip will be a time of discovery about the past of their parents and a way to know herself.
