The Mayor of Rione Sanità

Antonio Barracano is the man in charge of the neighborhood of Sanità, at the city of Napoli. This man, best-known as "El Alcalde" follows his own rules to make justice between the habitants of this district, making a difference between those who are honest people and those who aren´t it. One day, Antonio receives a particular case of his neighbors. Rafiluccio Santaniello, son of Sanità´s baker, tells Antonio to help him to murder his father. This kind of boss connects with the man instantly, because he sees himself into the young baker´s sons and he knows how it feels when you have this avenge emotion. Instead of helping to organize the murder, Antonio decides to mediate between the father and the son to try to save their family relationship.

'Il sindaco del Rione Sanità' will be realesed at Spain the first trimester of 2020. The movie was presented at the Italian Cinema Film Festival of Barcelona, celebrated on 14th December 2019 with the protagonist of the production, Francesco Di Leva. 'Il sindaco del Rione Sanità' is an adaptation of the theatre play with the same name and that was created by Eduardo de Filippo. Its director, Mario Mortone, decided to take the movie to the Venecia Film Festival, after represented it over the stage at 2017.
