Plot
During a mission to Mars, astronaut Mark Watney (Matt Damon) is left at planet by his crew, who thinks his mate is dead after a horrible storm. The crew came back to Earth but Watney is alive. Despite of he has survived, his possibilities to stay alive a long period of time are minimal. He hasn't enough food until a rescue operation arrives there. Moreover, there's not any communication and nobody in Earth knows Watney didn't die, so nobody will travel to rescue him. In spite of his low possibilities to survive, Watney is the only one human in the red planet. He is going to take advantage of his abilities and the resources to get coming back to Earth.
'The Martian' is a movie directed by Ridley Scott, with that movie, the director comes back to the Sci-Fi gender Mat Damon is the astronaut Mark Watney, based on the character written by Andy Weir. Weir wrote the book 'The Martian'. The movie is based on it. The cast is formed by Jessica Chastain, Kate Mara, Jeff Daniels y Chiwetel Ejiofor.

Matt Damon and Jessica Chastain had worked in ' Interstellar ' film that is also set in space, but for which they did not share any scenes.
'The Martian' use as soundtrack some of the most popular disco music like: 'Hot Stuff', performed by Donna Summer, 'Waterloo' by ABBA or 'I Will Survive' by Gloria Gaynor.
