Plot
'The Marching Band' tells the story of Thibaut, a well-known orchestra conductor with great international prestige who travels the world thanks to his work. He is currently suffering from leukemia, which urgently requires a bone marrow donor. Upon discovering that he is adopted, he also learns about the existence of a younger brother named Jimmy. Jimmy works in a school cafeteria and plays the trombone in a small band. It seems that a love for music is the only thing they have in common, as in every other aspect they are very different people, but their passion becomes a significant point of connection.
A film that addresses well-known themes such as sibling bonds, chance, conditions, and social determinism. All within the same story where the common thread is music and bands. Two extremes of the same realm come together, creating a cultural, social, musical, and emotional clash. A feature film that navigates between comedy and social drama.
Emmanuel Courcol, the French actor, director, and screenwriter, directs this film, which becomes his third feature after 'Ceasefire' (2016) and 'The Big Hit
' (2020). Benjamin Lavernhe and Pierre Lottin are the ones who bring to life the brothers who star in this beautiful story.
