The Light of Hope

Inspired by true events. This co-production between Spain, France and Switzerland is situated in the south of France in the year 1942, in the middle of World War II and in what was known as Vichy France. The regime of Marshal Philippe Pétain has decided to close the Maternity Home of Elna, near the border with Spain. Elna's Maternity House has for three years been bringing dignity back to those women who were interned in refugee camps and who avoided death by giving birth to this mother's home, saving the lives of their babies as well , little innocent children who have come into the world in the midst of a warlike conflict. When the authorities want to close the Maternity House; The director of the center, midwives, nurses and other collaborators, as well as the mothers themselves will unite to do everything possible to avoid closure, even if their lives are in danger.
