The famous director of 'Blue Valentine' Derek Cianfrance directs and adapts to the big screen the novel by M. L. Stedman 'The Light Between Oceans', a historical romantic drama starring Michael Fassbender, Alicia Vikander and Rachel Weisz that leads us to Australia in 1926, when a mysterious boat reaches the remote island where lives the lighthouse keeper Tom (Fassbender) and his wife Isabel (Vikander). The small boat carries a desperately crying baby next to a dead man. Tom and Isabel decide to take over the small one without informing the authorities, adopting her like if she were their child as they leave behind the tragedy that took her into their arms. But the peace of this family won't last long, because years later in the village they came to meet Hannah (Weisz) a woman suffering as a result of a trauma from the past.
