The Kings of the World

'The Kings of the World' tells the story of Rá, Culebro, Nano and Winny, a group of young nbetween the ages of 12 and 19 who take to the streets of Medellín, Mexico to proclaim as their own a "kingdom" without borders or limits. One day the situation of the group changes: Rá has received by correspondence the final decision of the land restitution office, inheriting some land that at the time was expropriated by the paramilitaries, when it still belonged to her grandmother. Now, the group of boys intends to use that forgotten land for a good purpose: to create a space where they can be truly free, a safe place to formalize the foundations of their new kingdom of freedom.

'The Kings of the World' reveals all the problems that five kids can find who have nothing, only dreams and hopelessness. Injustice and perseverance are the two cornerstones of this feature film that come into conflict throughout the one hundred and three minutes that the film lasts, which will show the struggle of Rá, Culebro, Sere, Winny and Nano to create this space free of repression.

Director Laura Mora Ortega adds 'The Kings of the World' to her credits as director and screenwriter, her fourth film for the big screen: 'Kill Jesus', 'Código Origen' and 'Antes del fuego'.
