The Island of the Monks

The action takes place in a monastery, specifically in the one of Sion, located in the Netherlands. This sacred site has space to house a total of 120 monks. However, in 2013 there were only eight left. It was their turn to move, start in a new place and even get more adepts to their religious community. All these reflections ended in the idea of returning to "house": to Holanada, to the north of the island that takes its name (Schiermonnikoog, that means "Island of the Gray Monks"). Although at first it was a good idea, to leave everything and leave is never easy, even more so when these men begin to question their life, their vocation. What makes someone become a monk and why are they here?
