The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks

Based on the true story of Henrietta Lacks, an African American woman whose unique cells, which were able to live outside the human organism, changed forever the history of medicine: the HeLa. Nevertheless, after her death due to a severe cancer, the hospital takes advantage of a legal loophole in order to silence her name and discriminate Henrietta's family, making profit and taking all the merits. Rebecca Slooke, a journalist researcher, decides to contact Henrietta Lack's family in order to write a book telling all the truth about her story. Together with her daughter, Deborah Lacks, they will both discover a reality hidden to the world, reaching further horizons than nobody before, and discovering things about the past that they never imagined.
