The Ideal Palace

The film tells us the story of Joseph Ferdinand Cheval, a postman of the late 19th century in France who traveled every day through the villages of Drome carrying letters from one place to another, a life of the most routine with which he was happy, no worries or dangers to face. Everything for him will change when he meets Philomena, who will become his wife and with whom he will have a daughter, Alice, since his life will start to revolve around her and her happiness, since it will be the most important thing for him too . The devotion and love for her daughter will make Cheval set the goal of her life: to build an ideal palace for her, a palace where she is happy and can grow up enjoying her childhood. The task will be hard, but the postman is willing to get it and for this he will invest 33 years of his life to build it, regardless of the effort or the price, since for him the most important thing is the happiness of his daughter. Today, that palace is still available to the public in France, a film based on real events and the most inspiring.

The film is directed by Nils Tavernier and stars Jacques Gamblin, Laetitia Casta, Florence Thomassin, Zelie Rixhon, Bernard Le Coq and Natacha Lindinger. It opens in Spain on April 30.
