The Idea of You

'The Idea of You' is a film that intertwines the lives of an Italian boy and a calf born in the Andalusian pasture destined to become a fighting bull. Directed by Alessandro Pugno and written by Natacha Kucic and Alessandro Pugno, this cinematographic work offers a deep and emotional look at the lives of two beings who, at first glance, seem to belong to completely different worlds.

The Italian boy, whose dream is to become a bullfighter, and the calf, who is born with a predefined destiny in the world of bullfighting, represent two opposite but intertwined perspectives in the same fabric of existence. As they grow up in separate environments, their lives develop in parallel, mirroring each other's experiences and challenges.

The film's cast features talented actors such as Guillermo Bedward, Donovan Raham, Juan Quiñones, Antonio Estrada, Antonio Dechent, Ian Caffo, Silvia Degrandi and Paola Sotgiu.

The production has been possible thanks to the support of various institutions and programs, including Eurimages - Council of Europe, Ibermedia Produccion, Creative Europe Program - MEDIA of the European Union, ICAA - Ministry of Culture, Government of Spain , Ministero della Cultura - Direzione Generale Cinema e Audiovisivo, Junta de Andalucía. Ministry of Culture and Historical Heritage, Piemonte Film TV Fund, Torino Film Commission, Ibermedia Desarrollo, among others.

The project has been recognized at various festivals and events in the film industry, highlighting the Franco Solinas 2015 Award for Best Screenplay. In addition, it has been selected in prestigious creation and development meetings, such as the Festival Márgenes 2015 and the co-production advisory workshop in Havana 2015. It has the support of the ICAA, which considered it one of the projects in development in Spain 2020.'The Idea of You' is a romantic comedy directed by Michael Showalter based on the successful American novel by Robinne Lee. Since its launch, rumors about the similarities between its protagonist and Harry Styles have constantly circulated online. Finally, the company has released the first images of the film.

The story follows Sophie, a divorced mother played by Anne Hathaway, and Hayes Campbell, the lead singer of August Moon, the most popular boy band on the planet, with Nicholas Galitzine in the role. The actor known for playing youth romances, such as 'Cinderella' and 'Red, White and Blue Blood', returns to Prime Video along with one of the most acclaimed stars in comedy, for great classics such as 'Surprise Princess', 'The Devil Wears Prada' or 'Bride Wars'.

An unusual meeting occurs between the two when Sophie, at the behest of her ex-husband, takes her teenage daughter to the most famous music festival in the United States, Coachella. There she will meet Campbell and a passionate romance will be unleashed between them, which more than one will not accept.

The cast also includes Ella Rubin as Izzy, Sophie's daughter, Reid Scott as Dan, her ex-husband, Jordan Aaron Hall as Zeke, Jaiden Anthony as Adrian, Raymond Cham Jr as Oliver, Viktor White as Simon, Dakota Adan as Rory, Annie Mumolo as Tracy, Perry Mattfeld as Eva and Mathilda Gianopoulos.

The film has a script by Jennifer Westfeldt and a production by Gabrielle Union, Cathy Schulman, Belle Hope Dayne, Eric Hayes, Jordana Mollick, Showalter and Lee. It will premiere exclusively at South by Southwest on March 16, 2024. Filming took place in and around Atlanta, Georgia beginning in October 2022, where Galizitine and Hathaway were photographed together in Savannah's set.
