The Hummingbird

'The Hummingbird' is a story based on the memories of Marco Carrera. Through them, 'the hummingbird', as all his acquaintances and relatives call him, manages to travel the length and breadth of his life: from that day on the beach when he met Luisa, his true love; passing through the Italian capital, the place where he met, achieved and ended up with his wife Marina, with whom he had a daughter named Adèle; until he ends up in Florence with the company of Daniele Carradori, a psychoanalyst friend of his who will try to teach 'the hummingbird' to finally get his life back on track after having stumbled all these years, even losing himself along the way.

This film is the adaptation to the big screen of the successful homonymous novel by Sandro Veronesi, the Italian writer. This adaptation will be directed and co-written by Francesca Archibugi, who adds with this feature film her fifteenth credit as a director in her 35-year career. As for the artistic team: 'El colibrí' stars Pierfrancesco Favino, whom we have seen in other productions such as 'World War Z' or 'Angels and Demons'; Bérénice Bejo, plays Luisa Lattes, Carrera's first love; Marina, the woman he marries and has children with, is played by Kasia Smutniak; the main cast is closed by Nanni Moretti, who plays the psychoanalyst friend.
