The Human Hibernation

'The Human Hibernation' is a film that explores what human nature would be like if it had been different. Following the disappearance of Erin, a child who wakes up prematurely from hibernation, his older sister, Clara, takes us on a journey to seek answers and confront the narratives established by the society in which one lives. It is a reflection on humanity, its contradictions, and the animal condition.

The construction of this story is based on a fictional script that is rooted in a science fiction universe intertwined with some real experiences of people. This is where we find certain points where the society we are and the one created for this film converge. A mental science fiction experiment depicted through vivid and striking scenes.

This feature film marks the first time the Spanish director Anna Cornudella Castro directs, produces, and writes. The director had previously worked on music videos and art pieces but had not ventured into the world of cinema, not even with a short film. She enters this realm with a bang with this Spanish work that has a somewhat post-apocalyptic feel, questioning and spotlighting the future of the human race in a world where the effects of climate change are even more severe than in our own.
