Plot
"The Happy Prince" focuses on the last three years of writer Oscar Wilde's life, covering the period between 1897 and 1900. Isolated in a hotel on the French coast, Wilde decides to embark on a journey through Europe with a double objective: to meet his ex-wife as well as Sir Alfred "Bosie" Douglas, a former lover who was the fruit of many of the great problems of the writer. Despite his health problems, Wilde insists on undertaking this journey that will take him in search of creativity and love through the darkest corners of his life. 'The Happy Prince' is starring, directed and written by the actor Rupert Everett, a movie that supposed his debut in directing and as a screenwriter. Colin Firth, Emily Watson, Tom Wilkinson, Colin Morgan, Miranda Richardson and Anna Chancellor complete the cast of the film.
