The Handsome Suit

'The Handsome Suit' is a 2008 Japanese film directed by Tsutomu Hanabusa, inspired by the novel by Osamu Suzuki, which was first screened at the 11th Udine Far East International Film Premiere in 2009.

The plot follows Takuro, played by Muga Tsukaji, the overweight restaurant owner, who has become very popular among the people of the city for his delicious dinners. Although Takuro has bad luck in romantic affairs because of his appearance, his lack of taste in dressing and his bad habits, his cooking service is excellent. However, what she misses most is his former waitress, Hiroko, played by Keiko Kitagawa, who fell in love with him but ended up forgetting him when she realized that she only cared about his appearance.

In the film, Takuro discovers an invention that could change all that. The chef tries on an experiment known as "The Handsome Suit", which turns him into Annin Hikariyama, played by Shosuke Tanihara, a more attractive, taller model with a deeper voice.

With her new appearance, she meets Raika (Mayumi Sada), a beautiful, beautiful and highly prestigious model, who is attracted to him while they work and aggressively seduces him, until he almost falls in love with her. However, over time he realizes how differently he is treated now and begins an apprenticeship to understand the importance of appearances in society, particularly when he meets the homely but sweet Motoe (Miyuki Oshima), which will make you make a difficult decision.
