The Gazelle's Dance

Eugenio has a dream: to win a trophy, recognition he never achieved in his career as a footballer. He too has 72 and little to do as an athlete, so he finds in an adult dance contest his last chance to redeem that frustrated dream. The championship is in tropical dances and when he loses his partner, his only options of winning are to face his own prejudices and those of his family. The time has come to change the ball around the room.

'El Baile de la Gacela' is a co-production between Mexico and Costa Rica directed by Iván Porras Meléndez and written by himself with nrique Pérez Him. They star Álvaro Marenco, Marco Antonio Calvo Coronado, María José Callejas, Patricio Arenas and Vicky Montero and Mariano González.

It has been presented at the Montreal International Film Festival, where it won the "Golden Zenith" award for Best First Film in Canada in 2018. At the Costa Rica International Film Festival, where it won the Audience Award for best film in 2019. And at the Icaro International Film Festival in Central America, where it won the Best Production and Best Sound in Guatemala in 2018. Festival Internacional de cine de Costa Rica.
