The Gaze of the Sea

Hortencia is a woman from Tuxpan who has a problematic past. She decides to undertake a trip by land and sea to retrieve the testimonies and memories of a crew of a fishing boat that sank five years ago in the waters of Veracruz. Little by little, your trip will become a reflection on the meaning of life and death, in an introspective vision about its meaning built from the mythologies and innermost desires of the people with whom it crosses.

This is the third documentary by director José Álvarez after 'Flores en el desierto' and 'Canícula'. The film has been presented at several competitions and festivals among which the International Film Festival of Guadalajara stands out, where it had its world premiere.
