The Fox

Based on the true story of soldier Franz Streitberger, great-grandfather of Adrian Goiginger, director of the film, 'The Fox' presents the story of Streitberger, a messenger soldier of the Third Reich during World War II. One day, the young soldier finds a badly wounded fox cub on the battlefield and decides to take care of him, offering him the home he never had. From that moment both become inseparable and Franz, risks up his life for the little animal, and the fox that could escape at any time decides to stay by his side.

Franz Streitberger was a child who grew up in a foster home, since his family, with few financial resources, could not support him. With his adoptive family he remained until the age of 18, when he ceased to have the obligation to remain under the care of his guardians and decided to join the Austrian army in order to obtain a job as a civil servant. Unfortunately, Austria soon annexed the German Empire and entered the war. It is in the war that the story of the film takes place which, in reality, aims to show the fox as a child, alone and defenseless, and Franz himself, older, as the family and the home, which responds differently to how he lived it.

The film is directed and penned by Adrian Goigner and star SImon Morzé as Franz.
