The First Woman

Eva is a woman who has spent six years in psychiatric treatment in a centre, a place she thought would never be able to leave. Now that her health has improved and she has finally regained her freedom, she wants to do everything she can to resume her relationship with her son. She doesn't know anything about him, as she hasn't seen him since he was a little boy, when social services took custody of him. She wants to give him a big hug and apologize for not having been able to look after him all this time. But for that she has to find a way to find out where he is. She will also try to have a normal life This seems simple, but it is not, because normality is really a very relative thing. This documentary shows his quest, his desire to be better and the importance of second chances.

Its director is Miguel Eek, who is specialized in documentaries. Some of his works are 'Coming Soon Last Days', 'City of the Dead', 'Vida divina' and 'Vida y muerte de un arquitecto'. It was produced by Mosaic Producciones and IB3, the public television station of the Balearic Islands. The film has participated in several festivals, such as the Malaga Film Festival, the Cormorán Film Fest in A Coruña and the IDFA International Documentary Filmfestival in Amsterdam.
