Plot
Justin Benson and Aaron Moorhead return to the big screen after 'Spring' with this new film. Both direct and star in this film about the brothers Justin and Aaron Smith, who grew up in a sect but fled there when they got older. In their adulthood they are living in an apartment in Los Angeles when they receive a videotape of the sect they belonged to throughout their youth. This inspires them to return to their origins, but there they will discover that the beliefs they fled from may have more meaning than they initially believed. They will be the ones who will have to decide if they stay or return to the world they already knew. The film has a low budget and has been defined as "lovecraftiana" because of its similarity to the author's work. It has been part of the festival of Sitges and the Fantastic Fest. It won the Best Film award at the Bucheon Film Festival.

Trivia
Not cult, but commune
The directors spent some time deciding how they would call the place where the main characters return, because they didn't think "cult" was an accurate term. In the end, they called it "commune". Days after, Moorhead watched a documentary about cults where one of the people interviewed said: "No, I'm not in a cult, I'm in a commune".
In the air
The numerous aerial shots in the film were achieved via a drone.
Rehearsals and more rehearsals
Directors live in the same building and would rehearse together a lot of times so they could exploit the script to the top.
