The Earth Will Tremble

A 1948 Italian dramatic film directed by Luchino Visconti. The movie is loosely adapted from Giovanni Verga's novel I Malavoglia.'The earth will Temble' is a docufiction about Sicilian story. In rural Sicily, the fishermen live at the mercy of the greedy wholesalers. One family risks everything to buy their own boat and operate independently. The picture features, as non-credited non-professional actors, Antonio Arcidiacono, Giuseppe Arcidiacono, and many others. The film can be divided into five sections: a prologue, three main phases and an epilogue.
