Plot

'The Dinner' will introduce us to two couples who are sharing a seemingly diplomatic and quiet dinner in a deluxe restaurant. Both couples enjoy plate after plate when the tension causes a beginning to lose both nerves and manners. Their intention: to defend the innocence of their respective children, who have been accused of committing a serious crime. Dinner was developed in this way, while the secrets that keep diners from coming to light, something that cause something to happen that will move their lives forever.

Director Oren Moverman, who has two Oscar nominations in his film career, puts himself in charge of this thriller with the intention of recreating the events narrated in 'The Dinner', the Herman Koch's Best Seller who managed to take the audience award and was claimed Book of the Year in 2009. The will feature renowned actors such as Richard Gere (Laura Pretty), Laura Linney ('Night Animals'), Steve Coogan ('Philomena'), Rebecca Hall ('Vicky Cristina Barcelona'), Chloë Sevigny And friendship ') and Charlie Plummer ('Broadwalk Empire').

Book's author

Herman Koch didn't show up to the after party after the premiere, he didn't like the adaptation of his book at all.

Cate Blanchett was attached to direct at one point. Oren Moverman replaced her.
