The Corral and the Wind

Documentary directed by Bolivian director Miguel Hilari. This film tells the difficulty of access to education in Bolivia and do it with historical perspective. In another era, the first peoples of the countries emerged from the waters of Lake Titicaca. Later, the filmmaker's grandfather wanted to study and learn to read and write. But that was harshly repressed desire both for his family and by his bosses, who decided to lock him in a corral where donkeys living. Later, as with the adult filmmaker, he decided to focus on the look of his uncle, who lives alone since his children marched to La Paz. Hilari uses his work to denounce the situation of inequality in their country, of how children can only study Spanish and must forget their native languages.
