The Comedian

'The Comedian' is an American comedy-drama film directed by Taylor Hackford and written by Lewis Friedman, Richard LaGravenese, Art Linson, and Jeff Ross.

Robert De Niro plays a comic icon trying to reinvent himself with the audience only wanting to know him as the former TV character he once played. He's a strain on his younger brother (Danny DeVito) and his wife (Patti LuPone) and is being forced to serve out a sentence doing community service for assaulting an audience member. While there, he finds inspiration by meeting Harmony (Leslie Mann), the daughter of a sleazy Florida real estate mogul (Harvey Keitel). Produced by Cinelou Films and distributed by Sony Pictures Classics, the film will have its world premiere at the AFI Fest on November 11th, 2016.
