Based on true events. This period drama delves into a network full of betrayals and espionage in the early World War II and just as Spain just out of the horrible Civil War. Ramón Mercader is a young Spanish Communist who, after the war, Spain must flee and seek refuge in a safe country. His mother, Caridad is a woman possessed by fanaticism, she strongly believes in the communist ideals and she has transmitted them to her son. Therefore, the young Ramón is captured by the Soviet secret services to participate in a plan that is perfectly prepared and ordered by Stalin himself. The goal: Murdering Lev Trotsky, one of the fathers of the Soviet Union. Ramón travel to Mexico to meet with his lover and also to end the life of the former Russian leader.
