Plot
After the death of her father (Kevin Janssens), Jennifer Rogiers (Taeke Nicolaï) travels to the United States to study at the prestigious Julliard music conservatory in New York, the city that never sleeps. Jennifer carries with her, on the trip, a secret that will torment her forever. As time goes by, once Jennifer has become a skilled pianist, her mother (Ruth Becquart) registers her into the Queen Elizabeth Piano Competition in Brussels, with the intention of helping her becoming the best pianist on the planet. For her preparation, Jennifer Rogiers will spend a week locked in a chapel to inhibit herself from the outside. However, locking herself in the chapel relives that childhood trauma that she brought with her from Belgium after the death of her father. To achieve success, Rogiers must concentrate to overcome this irrecoverable past and overcome the demanding expectations imposed by her mother.
Dominique Deruddere ('Wait for Spring, Bandini') writes and directs this film starring Taeke Nicolaï ('Transport'), Ruth Becquart ('The Rise and Fall of Tony T (Dirty Mind)') and Kevin Janssens ( 'The Ardennes').
Produced by Savage Films, 'The piano competition' will arrive in Spain, by Vercine, on July 19, 2024.
