The Castle

A dark fairy tale in which Justina receives a reward from her former boss for having dedicated herself to him throughout her life as a servant. He gives her a big mansion deep in the Pampas, in Argentina. The only condition he puts on Justina is that she must never sell it.

On one hand, Justina and her daughter Alexia try to maintain the huge house that the former housekeeper has inherited from her boss. But the two indigenous women can't afford to pay for the maintenance of the decaying property.

They begin to earn some money through an internet sale of the forniture from the house and also their cattle, but it isn't enough. On the other hand, they receive frequent visits from the former owner's family, who continue to treat them as servants. Alexia refuses to accept this deal and wants to return to the city to work as a car mechanic and start conquering the world as a racing driver.

The house will become an enchanted castle that refuses to abandon its inhabitants. They also must deal with the low signal which represents the marginalization suffered by the couple. The social gap in Argentina means that, even after the protagonist becomes the owner of a house and land, she cannot live without worries. A movie by the director Martín Benchimol.
