The Big hit

Etienne (Kad Meran) is unemployed too often, but he is an endearing actor who runs a theater workshop in a prison. There he manages to gather an unusual group of prisoners with the intention of making a representation of the famous work of Samuel Beckett 'Waiting for Godot'. When he gets legal permission to tour out of jail with this colorful troupe of actors, Etienne finally has the chance to improve in life and prosper.

Each time they are put in front of the public, they achieve a new success that is strengthening the relationship between this improvised company and its theater director. The downside is that before they even realize it, the time for the last show will come. It will take place in Paris and then they will have to go their separate ways. Will that farewell be the group's greatest success?

Directed by Emmanuel Courcol and produced by Robert Guédiguian. 'The Big hit' has won the award for Best EUROPEAN comedy. EFA 2020, had the Official Seal of the 2020 Cannes Film Festival, was the closing film of the Valladolid Festival 2020 and participated in the 2020 Toronto Film Festival. It stars Kad Meran, winner of Cesar and protagonist of the internatinal hit 'Welcome to the North '.
