The Battle at Lake Changjin

The story takes place in the winter season in 1950 during the War of Korea. In the icy Changjin Lake region of North Korea, a bloody battle begins between the United States and China. Despite the extreme weather conditions, the lack of food and the great difference in weaponry, the Chinese troops advance with fearless spirit and iron will in what was one of the most violent battles of the Korean War.

It is the highest-grossing film in China's history and it has grossed more than US$900 million globally. The film has been directed by a trio of more than solvent directors: Chen Kaige ('Farewell My Concubine'), Dante Lam ('The Rescue') and Tsui Hark ('Once Upon a Time in China' trilogy), with Jianxin Huang and Xiaolong Lan as screenwriters.

On the other hand, the cast includes Jing Wu, Jackson Lee, Chen Li, Dongjun Han, Jun Hu, Xuan Huang, Hanyu Zhang, Hao Ou, Yawen Zhu, Yihong Duan, Kevin Lee, John F. Cruz and James Filbird.

It has been screened at several festivals and received several awards such as Best Editing at the Changchun Film Festival and Best Visual Effects at the Movie Heroes Awards in China. It also received four nominations at the Macau International Film Festival for Best Director, Best Actor (Jing Wu), Best Screenplay and Best Cinematography.
