The Amazing Maurice

'The Amazing Maurice' is a British animated film that follows the adventures of Maurice, a streetwise cat who knows perfectly well how to swindle his way to get money. Our cat collaborates with the Educated Rodents, a horde of highly intelligent animals, and teams up with a naive little boy who plays the bagpipes. In order to scam the city rulers, he gets paid to get rid of the rodents. Maurice and the rats collaborate together, pretending that the bagpipe music makes the multitude of critters leave the territory forever, when it is really all orchestrated.

The film 'The Amazing Maurice' is co-directed by Toby Enkel ('A Stork's Journey') and Florian Westermann. The screenplay is written by Terry Rossio, known for his work in the 'Pirates of the Caribbean' saga and 'Sherk', with the additional help from Robert Chandler and director Toby Genkel. The story is based on Terry Pratchett's famous book 'The Amazing Maurice and His Educated Rodents', part of his 'Discworld' saga.

The starring cast includes the voices of Hugh Laurie as Maurice, Emilia Clarke as Malice and Himesh Patel as Keith. The rest of the cast includes David Thewlis, Gemma Arterton, Hugh Bonneville, David Tennant, Rob Brydon, Julie Atherton, Joe Sugg and Peter Serafinowicz.
