Plot
Taron Egerton stars in 'Tetris', the movie that tells the incredible and true story of how the puzzle videogame conquered the world and became the best selling game ever. The actor portrays Henk Rogers, a businessman who was born in Europe but raised in the United States. He discovers 'Tetris' in the Computer Electronics Show in Las Vegas. He gets hooked on those blocks from the very start, and he has the hunch that this could be the title that would break the stigma that videogames are only for children.
But there is a catch: somebody already has the rights to sell it for computers, and to get the rights for the other platforms he has to travel to Moscow and convince the Soviet Union government, who doesn't allow that any intellectual property crosses their borders, to sell him the rights for its distribution in consoles. It's Cold War, the relationship between the United States and the Soviet Union is at its lowest point. But they didn't count with Henk's tongue and persistence.
'Tetris' is directed by Jon S. Baird ('Tetris') with a scrip written by Noah Pink ('Genius'). The cast features Nikita Efremov as Alexey Pajitnov, the creator of the videogame, Sofia Lebedeva as Sasha, Anthony Boyle as Kevin Maxwell, Roger Allam as Robert Maxwell, Ben Miles as Howard Lincoln, Kem Yamamura as Minoru Arakawa, Igor Grabuzov as Valentin Trifonov, Ayane Nagabuchi as Akemi Rogers, Oleg Shtefanko as Belikov y Toby Jones a Rsobert Stein.
