Plot
'Terremoto' is a documentary film based on the figure of Fernando Fernández Monje, a flamenco singer considered one of the most important singers in the history of flamenco in Spain, whose relevance is huge in this particular type of music. However, his name is unknown by most people over the years. This film sets itself the task of recovering and reclaiming the figure of this singer, nicknamed the 'Terremoto of Jerez', related to his place of origin.
Through a series of memories, testimonies from people close to his figure and thousands of black and white photographs and also lots of videos of the Spanish singer, the film reveals the story of this man, gypsy and illiterate. He was also born in poverty and grew up with hardly receiving any education or studies of any kind. His only way to experss himself was through his music, possessing a natural and unique touch, according to those who were lucky enough to know him when we lived. His history is also the story of flamenco music in Spain, although his life was short due to premature death.
Now, 38 years after his death, this documentary directed by Álvaro Mayoral and Nacho Rojas, pays justice to his figure by going through his entire history, which is as emotional as his own voice.
